Mark Gaywood 

Group Chairman

Mark is the founder and group chairman of Momentum Pensions. Mark established Momentum with a clear vision to evolve the international pensions sector by delivering new standards of service, integrity and transparency. To realise this vision, Mark was able to draw upon substantial experience in financial services having previously served as a main board director for two international banks on the Isle of Man, with responsibilities covering investment, banking and fund administration. In addition to Momentum, Mark has successfully developed a select number of companies in the property, retail, and financial services sectors.

Stewart Davies 

Group CEO

A qualified banker, Stewart is Momentum’s chief executive officer, leading our senior management team. Having headed the wealth management operation of an international bank in the Isle of Man, Stewart draws on his extensive knowledge and professionalism to ensure that Momentum continues to lead the way as a pensions provider. He led the purchase of Ernst & Young Trust Company in 2002, as well as the merger of two Isle of Man-based trust companies in 2009. Stewart was able to deploy this considerable expertise when he led our UK acquisition in 2014.

 

David Borg 

Director

David has worked in senior management for some of the largest international corporations based in Malta. During this time he has gained extensive experience and understanding of a broad gamut of business sectors including oil and gas, international tourism and real estate. David is a Chartered Accountant and Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), the Malta Institute of Taxation and the Malta Institute of Accountants.

Craig Cheyne 

Director

Craig brings over twenty-five years’ experience in financial services to Momentum along with particularly valuable insight on the IFA sector. Initially, Craig worked in the banking sector before qualifying and building a career as an IFA, advising on investments, pensions, protection and mortgages, before moving onward to relationship management. Prior to joining Momentum, Craig gained inter-national experience in Singapore and South East Asia, working with expatriate distribution channels for a large global life company.

 

Susan Brooks 

Director

Having worked in a senior management capacity for several financial institutions, Susan brings a valuable blend of professional and academic credentials to Momentum. She is a member of the Irish Institute of Pensions Management, and has overseen the development of their Diploma in Pensions Management and Policy. A graduate of National University of Ireland with a first-class honours degree in Mathematics, Susan also holds a Masters in Financial and Industrial Mathematics from Dublin City University as well as a Professional Diploma in Financial Advice. Susan is currently completing the final part of the Chartered Tax Adviser qualification with the Irish Tax Institute.

Josef Micallef 

Director

As a senior accountant, Josef worked with leading corporate services providers in the Isle of Man and, on his return to Malta, he took over the role of assistant finance manager for an EU licensed and regulated financial institution. Josef’s experiences have garnered instrumental knowledge in the financial services industry, which he brought with him to Momentum. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), and holds a Bachelor of Accountancy (Hons) degree and Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Malta.

 

Paul Forman 

Director

Paul has been involved in financial services for over twenty years, including sales-specific roles for the last fifteen years. He is a Chartered Financial Planner and holds Fellowship status with the Personal Finance Society. Based in Momentum’s Manchester office, Paul has extensive UK and inter-national experience which he gained in earlier roles as a sales director with an international pension trustee in the Isle of Man and as regional sales manager for a leading offshore life office in Asia.

Paul Wright 

Director

Paul brings thirty years’ experience in financial services to Momentum. He has held various administration, management, trusteeship and technical roles during his career, working for a major insurance company before joining a SIPP, SSAS and ISA platform provider in 2003. He spent seven years there as head of technical services, leading a team which provided all aspects of technical, regulatory and legislative support to staff and advisers. He also has valuable experience in business process improvement, change management and training.
