We are currently seeking to recruit a detail oriented, experienced, highly motivated Compliance Associate within our Momentum Malta office. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the day-to-day compliance operations.

We are a progressive Company offering the ability to work from home if appropriate.

Role Purpose

The Compliance Associate will support the Compliance Team in day-to-day compliance activities, ensuring that Momentum meets its legal, regulatory, and internal governance obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day compliance related queries and activities ensuring that turnaround times and service standards and quality are met.
  • Dealing in a timely and accurate manner any regulatory requests from various channels including DSARs, Asset Recovery Bureau, MFSA, FIAU, SMB etc.
  • Handling any due diligence request received from third party providers.
  • Coordinate and organise the collection of evidence required for complaints investigations.
  • Help maintain the firm’s compliance registers (e.g., Complaints Register).
  • Support the Compliance function in implementing the firm’s compliance monitoring plan.
  • Undertake client screening both at Member onboarding and on an ongoing basis.
  • Perform due diligence checks on third parties’ business relationships e.g. Discretionary Fund Managers and Investment Advisory firms.
  • Perform due diligence checks on Members based on their customer risk assessment.
  • Carry out periodic reviews of internal Compliance policies and procedures, to ensure continuous compliance with the relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with regulatory filings including collection of data required for regulatory reporting and internal thematic reviews preparation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Compliance function as required.

 

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • 2 years working experience in financial services, in particular in a Compliance function.
  • Strong quality standards.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and with good time management to organise and prioritise work even under pressure and within tight timescales.
  • Proved excellent written and verbal communication across all levels.
  • Ability to carry out research.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • A genuine interest in compliance.
